Henry "Hank" J. Bohinick

October 7, 1946 – August 11, 2024 Henry J. “Hank” Bohinick, 77, of Clearwater, FL passed away at his home on August 11, 2024 after battling several health issues.
Hank was born and raised in Clifton Heights, PA and graduated from Ridley High School and Villanova University. He was preceded in death by his parents Andrew Bohinick and Kathryn (Risco) Bohinick, and wife Elaine (Davis) Bohinick. Hank is survived by his siblings Joanne Rankin, Michael and Robert Bohinick; children Barbara J. Steinmetz (Matthew), Valerie Bohinick, Henry Joseph Bohinick; step children Sheri Carney (Patrick), Greg Davis (June), Stephen Davis (Jamie); and 13 grandchildren.
As a young man, Hank worked as a mechanic and a mason. He was always one for learning, earning a Bachelor’s degree in Education and two Master’s degrees (Political Science and Library Science). After teaching social studies for more than 35 years, he retired from E.T. Richardson Middle School in Springfield, PA. During his summers, he continued to work within the school district in the technology department, training and mentoring several high school students each summer. While working, he was active in the union (local branch of the Pennsylvania State Education Association (PSEA), serving as president of the Springfield Education Association and later the team negotiating the new contract for teachers. Hank enjoyed sharing meals with friends at his home in Brigantine, NJ and hosting events for coworkers, including the E.T. Richardson annual technology department dinners. He loved studying and keeping up with technology, and he routinely developed creative solutions to various problems he encountered with computers and networks. Hank had a passion and talent for developing real estate, building homes in Media, PA, Brigantine, NJ, and Clearwater, FL. He was also an avid reader of fiction and a huge Duke basketball fan, attending several final four events along with his wife.
Hank’s memorial service will be graveside at 10:00 am on Saturday, September 7, 2024 at Saints Peter and Paul Cemetery, 1600 S. Sproul Road, Springfield, Pennsylvania.
