Henry Bretthauer Henry Herman Bretthauer, 70, of Eugene, Oregon passed away on April 8, 2016, after a courageous battle with Parkinson's Disease and Multiple Myeloma Cancer. The funeral service will be held at 1:00pm on Saturday, April 16, 2016 at Central Lutheran Church, 1857 Potter St. in Eugene and will be conducted by the Reverend David Paulson of Our Savior's Lutheran Church with a reception to follow. Interment will be at West Lawn Memorial Park. Visitation is available from 4-7pm on April 15 at Musgrove Family Mortuary at 225 S. Danebo Ave. in Eugene. Henry was born in Kansas City, Kansas on August 23,1945. He graduated from Tonganoxie High School and enlisted in the U.S. Air Force where he served as a Nuclear Weapons Specialist. He went on to the University of Kansas, where he received a Bachelor’s of Science Degree in Geophysics. While on military service in Walla Walla, Washington he met Ardith Rene Hadden. They were married on August 16, 1969. He began his career in Exploration and Production Geophysics with Gulf Oil. He worked internationally with Chevron Oil and consulted privately until his retirement in 2005. He and Ardith settled in Eugene, Oregon with family and friends where he enjoyed jogging, biking, following the University of Kansas Jayhawks and driving his beautifully restored 1965 Austin Healey. Henry is lovingly remembered by his wife Ardith, his son Eric Bretthauer, his daughters Michelle Meehan and Elizabeth Tunstall and her husband David, his grandchildren Caitlin and Aaron Ducote, his brothers Ben, Frank, Jerry and Donald Bretthauer, his sisters Mary Rounds and Ruth Wickey and her husband John, many nieces and nephews, and the rest of his family and friends. He is predeceased by his parents Elmer and Daisy Bretthauer and his brothers Elmer and David Bretthauer. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be given to Food For Lane County in Eugene.
