Henry "Moose" L. Courchesne
November 13th, 1930 - October 25th, 2021
Holyoke- Henry L. "Moose" Courchesne, 90, passed away October 25, 2021. He was born on November 13, 1930 in Chicopee to the late Lionel Z. and Rosanne (Cliche) Courchesne. He graduated from Holyoke Trade School and was later employed at Atlas Copco, formerly Worthington Pump, for 35 years. He was the co-owner of G&H Landscaping which was established in 1973. Henry was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed camping, fishing, hunting and boating and was a seasonal camper at Tidewater Campground in Hampton, NH. He was a member of Easthampton Rod & Gun Club for many years and was a member of the Holyoke 902 Elks Lodge. More recently, Henry took pleasure in sitting in his backyard to watch the many birds that would come to visit his birdhouses. Besides his parents, Henry was preceded in death by his wife, Natalie (Zazycki) Courchesne, in 2005. He is survived by his son, Gary L. Courchesne and wife, Donna, of Ludlow; daughter, Lisa M. Kedzierski and husband, Bill, of Southampton; grandchildren, Christopher and Sara Courchesne; and great-grandchildren, Olivia and Owen. He also leaves his companion of several years, Irene Lacroix; Roland Lacasse, Jr., his hunting buddy; dear friends, Maurice Bresnahan, Henry and Dorothy Seidel, and Jim Lawson; as well as many cousins in Canada. A period of visitation will be held on Oct. 28th from 10:00-11:00 a.m. with a funeral service to begin at 11:00 a.m. at the Beers & Story South Hadley Funeral Home. Burial will immediately follow at St. Rose de Lima Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Dakin Humane Society of Springfield.
