Henry James Farrell
July 18th, 2021 - July 18th, 2021
Obituary Henry James Farrell passed peacefully on Sunday, July 18, 2021 in Colorado Springs, Colorado. Born January 24, 1936 in St. Paul, Minnesota, Jim was a member of the De La Salle Christian Brothers community for 35 years. He also was a teacher for 25 years, teaching first at the De La Salle Institute in Chicago, Illinois; he then taught for over twenty years at Saint Marys College of Winona, Minnesota. In his retirement, he spent nearly twenty years tutoring math at Aims Community College in Loveland, Colorado, and at Colorado State University in Fort Collins. Jim lived a life of gratitude, and it was important for him to express his appreciation. First, he would express deep gratitude to his parents Henry James and Wilhemine Farrell, his sisters Nancy and Michelle, and his loving and devoted wife Aime Schneider Farrell. Additionally, he would thank the Farrell and the Schneider families; the sisters of St. Joseph in St. Paul, Minnesota, for providing an excellent elementary education; the De La Salle Christian Brothers, for providing an excellent high school and college education; the faculty of the Physics Department at the University of Notre Dame; the De La Salle Christian Brothers with whom he lived and taught for 35 years for their camaraderie and support; the Benedictine sisters at Benet Hill Monastery in Colorado Springs, Colorado, for their caring support; and many friends and coworkers who helped him along the way. It was his joy and privilege to have many wonderful students over the years who assisted him in his ministry to educate. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Global Online Benedictine Spiritual Direction Program at Benet Hill Monastery in Colorado Springs, Colorado: benethillmonastery.org/global-online-program/ Services You can still show your support by sending flowers directly to the family, or by planting a memorial tree in the memory of Henry James Farrell
