Henry Heinze, 95, of Windsor, CO passed away at Grace Pointe Continuing Care in Greeley, Sunday, August 22, 2010. Henry was born September 24, 1914 in Gill, CO to Christ and Katherine (Ehrlich) Heinze. Henry grew up and attended Gill schools and farmed with his brothers in the Eaton and Windsor areas. On September 20, 1935 he married Lydia Martin. They continued to farm and raise their family until Henry retired and moved to Windsor in 1973. Henry was a master wood craftsman and created toys, games, clocks and furniture. He was most well-known for building the hammered dulcimer. During his lifetime he crafted 154 instruments which are being played in polka and Dutch hop bands nationwide. He took pride in the detail and perfection of his woodworking. He enjoyed raising a garden, polka dancing and family gatherings. Henry is survived by his daughters, Dorothy (Robert) Pope of Palisade, CO, Arlene Buxbaum and Margie (Ed) Meyer, both of Greeley, brothers, Fred Heinze of Eaton, and Ben Heinze of Windsor; sisters, Paulien Ehrlich of Loveland, CO, Lydia Weitzel of Greeley and Betty Roberts of Aurora, CO; grandchildren, Karen (Jeff) Falconburg, Bryan (Carrie) Pope, Tricia (Blake) Wagner, Curtis (Wendi) Meyer and Michelle Meyer; great-grandchildren, Jennifer and Lauren Falconburg, Kathy and Leslie Wagner, Paige, Chloe, and Wyatt Henry Meyer. He was preceded in death by his wife of 63 years, his parents, a son-in-law Reiny Buxbaum, a daughter Mary Ann, and his brother Edward. Visitation Tuesday, August 24, 2010, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Adamson Chapel. Funeral Service 10:00 a.m. Wednesday August 25, 2010 at Bethel Lutheran Church, 328 Walnut Street in Windsor, followed by interment at Lakeview Cemetery in Windsor.
