Obituary Herbert Curtis Hoover March 26, 1931 - May 18, 2016 Herbert Curtis Hoover, 85, peacefully passed from this life into eternity with God on Tuesday, May 18, 2016. He was born in Talmage, Kansas. After graduating from Chapman High School in Kansas he farmed for many years before moving to Colorado Springs where he worked at Meadow Gold Dairies for 24 years. His great joys were working in his garden, family, friends, upholstery, music, playing piano and cheering on both his children and grandchildren in whatever endeavor they were involved. He had a strong faith, was honest, hardworking and faithful, led music in the church for many years and sang in many choirs. Herb is survived by his loving wife of 41 years Dawn, four children; Cindy (Gary) Fischer, Greg (Debra) Hoover, Doug (Patsy) Hoover and Karen (Joel) Top, eight grandchildren; Daniel (Leana) Fischer, Caleb (Beth) Hoover, Emily Fischer, Rebekah (Chris) Lodge-Maragh, Connor, Ramon, Winston and Eden Top and great-grandchild Malakai Hoover. He is also survived by four sisters, Eunice Engle, Mary Lou Eshelman, Carol Wenger and Delores Rodda. He was preceded in death by his parents Irvin and Carrie Hoover, his wife of 18 years Gladys (Gish) Hoover in 1972, two brothers Glenn and Harry, three sisters, Rozella Thrush, Virgie Hess, Faithe Musser and an infant son David Irvin in 1964. The memorial service is scheduled for 11:00 AM, Tuesday, May 24th, 2016 at Woodmen Valley Chapel, Stone Chapel. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Woodmen Valley Chapel, Memo: Legacy Missions 290 E. Woodmen Rd. Colorado Springs, CO 80919.
