HERBERT P. SCHROEDL, age 91 of Jefferson passed away Monday, April 18, 2016 at the Jefferson Memory Care. He was born on June 14, 1924 to Enos and Ottilia (Werner) Schroedl. He married Margaret Riedl on November 9, 1946 at St. Henry Catholic Church in Watertown. She preceded him in death on February 13, 2016. Herbert was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather. He was part owner of Schroedl's Meat Market where he worked until his retirement in 1989. He then enjoyed woodworking projects and repairing lawnmowers. Herb enjoyed trips to the casino, and making chicken on his grill, camping and bowling, but most of all he loved to spend time with his family. He was born on Flag Day and would always remark how nice it was that they "put the flags out for him". He was a member of St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Parishes. He is survived by his children; Thomas (Margaret) Schroedl of Fort Atkinson, John (Linda) Schroedl of Jefferson, Barbara (Gary) Schenck of Fort Atkinson, Steven (Mary) Schroedl of Fort Atkinson, Linda (Mark) Schopen of Jefferson, Andrew Schroedl of Fort Atkinson, Debra (Steven) Kinateder of Helenville. Grandchildren Troy (Kara Sample) Schroedl, Tracy (Todd) Gray, Angela (John) Yerges, Jennifer (Jeffery) Kawleski, Nicholas (Shelly) Schroedl, Jody (Daniel) Klein, Jason (Tammie) Schenck, Valerie Schroedl, Dustin (Ashleigh) Schopen, Darin (Alaina Holtmeier) Schopen, Cory Schroedl, Amber Schroedl, Jacob Schroedl, Lucas (Lindsay Wolter) Kinateder, Emily Kinateder. 18 great grandchildren. Brothers Paul (Agnes) Schroedl of Jefferson, Edward (Jean) Schroedl of Jefferson Sisters Dorothy Vogel of Jefferson, Susie (Vern) Hoffman of Mercer WI, Sister in laws Lucille Schroedl of Fort Atkinson, and Lorraine Riedl of Watertown. He is preceded in death by his parents, his wife, two infant sons William and Jerome, Brothers Roger, Clarence, Alfred, Reuben, and Robert and a sister Marion Vogel Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 12:00 noon on Thursday, April 21, 2016 at St. John the Baptist Catholic church with the Rev. Thomas Coyle officiating, burial will follow in the parish cemetery. Visitation will be at the church on Thursday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of Mass. Those wishing to give memorials in Herbert's name may direct them to St. John the Baptist Catholic Church. He will be greatly missed by his family and he will be in our hearts forever.
