Herman "Gene" Eugene Passmore
April 1st, 1931 - August 1st, 2024
Herman Eugene (Gene) Passmore died on August 1, 2024, on Hilton Head Island, SC. He was 93. He lived his entire life independently, which he desired.
Gene was born April 1,1931 in Philadelphia, PA to his parents Herman E. and Margeret H. Passmore. He has lived in Upper Darby (graduated Upper Darby HS). He went onto LaSalle College (Philadelphia, PA) graduated Cum Laude in Accounting in 1957.
Gene was a Corporal Head in the US Army from 1952- 1954, and an accountant of the Officers Club in Ft. Eustis, VA. In 1953 he married Jane Shutters, they had two children, Mark Eugene, and Gary Lee where they lived in Harleysville, PA.
They divorced in 1975. Gene moved to Doylestown, PA and married Anne L. Bergman in May 1985. Anne has 5 children: Leslie Savage, Karl Bergman, Jill Bergman, Teri Bergman, Alan Bergman.
Mr. Passmore's career started as an accountant in the banking, television and mortgage businesses, 43 years in manufacturing starting as an accountant and retired as President of Precision Tube, in North Wales, PA.
Gene’s true passion was Golf and was an avid golfer his entire life, a member of Indian Valley Country Club, Squires Golf Club, Doylestown Country Club and the Dolphin Head Golf Club on Hilton Head Island. In his later years, he took up bocce ball playing weekly up until his death. He and Anne enjoyed spending time with their kids and grandchildren, traveling, walking their dogs Sugar and Roxie, and reading the New York Times every morning.
Mr. Passmore is survived by Anne and his sons, Mark Passmore of Sherwood, OR, Gary Passmore of Sterling, MA, his 5 stepchildren, Leslie Savage of Mukilteo, WA, Karl Bergman of Bluffton, SC, Jill Bergman of Lynnwood, WA, Teri Bergman of Henderson, NV and Alan Bergman of Dublin, PA.
