Hilda Stone

Mrs. Hilda Stone, 75, of Gibsonville, died Wednesday, August 24, 2011 at Moses Cone Hospital. Funeral services will be held 2:00 pm Sunday, August 28th at Lambeth-Troxler Funeral Chapel with the Reverend Joe Grubb officiating. Burial will follow at Alamance Memorial Park. Mrs. Stone was born June 3, 1936, in Rockingham County, to Charlie and Myrtle Tally Shreve. She graduated from Wentworth High School, was a member at Clifton Road Baptist Church and Crosspointe Church of Greensboro. She was a member of the Line Dancers of Alamance County, the Cactus Square Dancing Club, and Foot and Fiddle. After she retired from Sears she went to work for Guilford County for over 17 years and retired again in 2002. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Stone was preceded in death by her sister Ruth Hutcherson, brothers, Cecil Shreve, Eugene Shreve, Jack Shreve, and Samuel Shreve. Mrs. Stone is survived by her loving husband of 46 years, Paul W. Stone; sister, Eunice Fagg; brother, Warren Shreve; brothers-in-law, Jimmy and Myrtle Stone, Charles and Carolyn Stone, Richard and Lyn Stone; and many loving nieces and nephews.
