Hildred Taylor Davenport

Hildred Taylor Davenport, 93, passed away peacefully at home on September 27, 2021, surrounded by her family after a long battle with Dementia / Alzheimer’s disease. Hildred Darling Taylor was born August 27, 1928, in Darlington, SC, and was the fourth of six children of John and Norma Taylor of Macedonia. She married John Hilliard Davenport (September 23, 1924 - July 11,1994) of Newberry, SC, on January 17, 1948, in Charleston, SC. They had three children: Pamela Kay (and Rob) Barr, John Walter (and Debra) Davenport, and Henley Alan Davenport. Hildred was a wonderful daughter, sister, friend, wife, mother, mother-in-law, grandmother to 5, and great-grandmother to 7. She was happiest when she was surrounded by her large, loving family. She was woman of God that loved the Lord, sang His praises, & spoke of His teachings of love & forgiveness until the last days of her life on Earth. A memorial service is planned for 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 9, 2021, at Lighthouse Church, 1177 Gregorie Ferry Rd., Mt. Pleasant, SC.
