Hiram Sidney “Sid” Norton, 77, of Mebane, NC passed away peacefully at 7:00AM on Wednesday, September 22, 2021 at the AuthoraCare Hospice Home of Burlington. A native of Alamance County, NC, Sid was the husband of Helen Constance “Connie” Norton and the son of Sedberry Bartlemon “S.B.” Norton and Helen Doretha Russ Norton, both deceased. Sid was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force. Survivors include his wife, Connie, of the home; stepchildren Scott and Meaghan Skogen of Elon, NC, Kacie and Christian Gagnon of Boston, MA, Rita Brown of London, England, and Kristen Brown of New York City, NY; daughter, Kim Woody and husband, Scott of Burlington, NC; son, Brett Norton and wife, Mandy of Mebane, NC; grandchildren, James and Ainsley Skogen, Walter and Henri Gagnon, Finley, Hamish, and Laughlin Hastie, Ricki Fox and wife, Morgan, Ryan Fox and fiancé, Hailey Dorminy, Parker Norton, Tabor Norton, and Tenleigh Norton; sisters, Nancy McGayhey and husband, Guy of Burlington, NC, and Eula Rutledge and husband, David of Vero Beach, FL.; and many nieces and nephews. A memorial service celebrating his life will be held at 11:00AM on Tuesday, October 5, 2021 at Hawfields Presbyterian Church with Rev. David Ealy officiating.
