Obituary Hollis Anderson, 86, died May 30 in Fort Collins. She was born January 2, 1927, in Des Moines, Iowa to John and Lora Pearson. She spent her early years in rural communities in northern Minnesota and subsequently settling in St. Paul where she attended public schools. She is a graduate of the University of Minnesota where she met her future husband, LeMoyne "Lee" Anderson. They were married on June 2, 1950 after which they moved to Champaign Urbana entering the University of Illinois Graduate School. After their studies they moved to Chicago. During her career she served on the faculties of Hamline University and the University of Illinois. She was also Chief Reference Librarian at the Chicago Public Library. She moved to Colorado in 1957 where she was a Homemaker and a full time mother. During her life in Fort Collins, she was active in women's programs at C.S.U. as well as serving the Camp Fire Girls Inc. in several capacities ultimately earning the coveted Wakan Award. She also served as President of the Fort Collins Lioness Club. She was an ice skater, skier, amateur artist, collector of children's literature and she was an avid Bronco, Nuggets, Avalanche, and Beatles fan. She is survived by her husband, two daughters, Kristine Powell and Victoria Barnhill, as well as five grandchildren and six great grandkids. A memorial service will be held at 1:00pm, June 4 at the Trinity Lutheran Church. Charitable contributions as a memorial may be made to the Fort Collins Lions Club Foundation and/or the University of Minnesota Foundation.
