Hollis "Duck" Leonard

Mr. Hollis O. 'Duck' Leonard, 91 of Greensboro died Tuesday June 29, 2010 at Moses Cone Hospital . Funeral services will be held 11:00 am Saturday July 3, 2010 at Lambeth-Troxler Funeral Chapel with Reverend Diane Marsden officiating. Burial will follow at Forest Lawn Cemetery . Mr. Leonard was born June 9, 1919 in Guilford County to Moses and Mattie Andrews Leonard. He was retired from Cone Mills with over 45 years of service and a proud veteran of the United States Army. Mr. Leonard was a member of Carraway United Methodist Church where he served many years as a Lay Leader and Head Usher. In addition to his parents he is predeceased by his wife of 65 years Adelaide Ledbetter Leonard; three brothers: Lewis Leonard, Bill Leonard and Millard Leonard. Survivors include a daughter Jane Murchison and husband Jim of Greensboro; son Kelly Leonard and wife Linda of Graham; five grandchildren Jimmy Murchison, John Murchison, Josh Murchison and wife Christy, Kristen Harrington and husband Chase, Kari Leonard ; one great grandchild Leah Murchison and a sister in law Eunice Leonard. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday evening at Lambeth-Troxler Funeral Home
