Hondo L. Carpenter

Hondo L. Carpenter, 37, of Saratoga Rd., Scotia, NY, has gone to race heaven on July 4th, 2005. He was doing what he loved to do; racing an ATV and enjoying life to its fullest. Born in Gloversville, NY on January 23, 1968 a son of John D. and Gertrude E. Forsey Carpenter Sr. Hondo worked at AFG Glass in Scotia. He returned to AFG 11 ½ years ago as a team leader in the 2nd shift operation. Hondo accepted the position of Insulated Glass production supervisor eight years ago with the added responsibilities of warehouse shipping and receiving as the business grew. He will be greatly missed by everyone he worked with especially those who he passed his experience and knowledge to daily. He was a member of the Johnstown Moose Lodge. Hondo leaves a son, Christopher Carpenter of Scotia, NY; Jason Macleod, mother, Gertrude Carpenter of Gloversville, NY; father, John and Jacklyn Carpenter, Sr. of Warners Robbins, GA; brothers, Edgar and Carolyn Carpenter Sr. of Warners Robbins, GA, John & Beverly Carpenter, Jr. of Brimfield, MA, Timothy and Rosa Carpenter of Fredericksburg, VA, Eric Carpenter of Warners Robbins, GA and Malcolm and Robin Carpenter of Amsterdam, NY and several cousins, nieces and nephews, many racing fans and crew members, John Carpenter, Sr., Larry, Chris, Bobby and Kelly. He was pre-deceased by a brother, Jeffrey C. Carpenter. Funeral Services will be held on Thursday at 1:00P.M. at the Betz, Rossi & Bellinger Family Funeral Home, 171 Guy Park Ave, Amsterdam. Interment will take place privately in Maple Avenue Cemetery at the convenience of the family. The family will receive relatives and friends on Thursday, July 7th 2005 from 10:00AM to 1:00PM at the funeral home.
