Howard Alan Paddon-Russell
September 6th, 1955 - February 19th, 2019
Howard Alan Paddon-Russell was born September 6, 1955 in Newberg, Oregon and died on February 19, 2019 at Pioneer Place Memory Care Haven, Tacoma, Washington. Survived by his wife of 31 years, Nicki (Nijola) Russell, three brothers, David, Mark, Bill, many nephews and nieces, and other family members. Howard was preceded in death by his mother Joyce, father John Paddon, and step-father Bill Russell. He attended Bellarmine High School before serving in the United States Navy for four years as a jet mechanic on the USS Constellation and the USS Independence. After the Navy, Howard owned and operated Autotype Printing Company, a family-owned business of 40 years on South Tacoma Way. Howard was a dedicated volunteer at the American Lake VA golf course for twelve years. He was always ready to help as a Marshall, Front Desk, maintenance and entertainment advisor. He also assisted at many tournaments and activities of the VA until an injury at the golf course changed the direction of his life. He was always there to help a fellow VET along with a friendly and happy disposition to all. He loved the donut and hot dog days! Viewing and Rosary will be at Visitation of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church, 3314 So. 58th Street, Tacoma on Thursday, March 7th at 10:15 a.m. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. Reception to follow at 12:00 p.m. Internment will be at the National Cemetery in Kent, WA at 2:30 p.m. Special thanks to both Franciscan Hospice and Pioneer Place Memory Haven and all the wonderful staff for the exceptional care that Howard received on his long road to eternal peace.
