June 13th, 1923 - August 21st, 2010
Howard Edgar Roberts Howard Edgar Roberts, 87, died on Saturday, August 21, 2010 at Moses Cone Hospital. Mr. Roberts was born in Greensboro to Howard Lindsay and Bertha Smith Roberts. He was a tough 'Old Bird', and served in the US Marine Corp during WW II and Korea. He was a longtime employee at Western Electric. Mr. Roberts was a strong supporter of wild life and Lake Brandt. Mr. Roberts deeply touched whomever he came in contact with and he will be greatly missed by all. He was a wonderful husband and the best father Ken and Steve could have ever asked for. Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, August 25 at 11:00 am at Tabernacle Baptist Church, 1201 S Aycock Street, Greensboro, where he was a faithful member. Pastor Jim Cates will be officiating. The internment will be at Guilford Memorial Park following the service. Mr. Roberts was preceded by his parents, and his wife, Frances Roberts and his sister Jean. He is survived by two sons, Stephen M. and Kenneth H. Roberts; two sisters, Cathy and Margaret; five grandchildren, Mary, Scott, Kevin, Shawn, Justin, and numerous great grandchildren. The family will receive friends at Lambeth-Troxler Funeral Home, 300 W Wendover Ave., Greensboro 27408, on Tuesday from 6 ' 8 pm.
