Hugh Donnelly "Don Hoot" Hooton passed away Saturday, June 25, 2011 at his home in Ione at the age of 64 years. He was born December 31, 1946 to Edgar and Imogene (Medeiros) Hooton in Florida. Don married Jeanne on January 18, 1987 in Lake Tahoe. He made Amador County his home for 45 years. He is survived by his wife, Jeanne M. Hooton of Ione; daughters, Jesse Felts of Colorado, Sarah Liebsch of South San Francisco; step-daughters, Dina Mazick of Fair Oaks, Josette Tanner of Ione; father, Edgar D. Hooton of Sonora; sisters, Terri Hartill of Washington, Lynn Drury of Oregon; 7 grandchildren; and 5 great-grandchildren. Friends are invited to attend a memorial mass Friday, July 1 at 11:00 A.M. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Ione. Inurnment will be in the Ione Catholic Cemetery in Ione.
