Mrs. Ida M. Brown, 62, of Garden Street, Amsterdam, NY died peacefully on Thursday, March 24, 2011 at Ellis Hospital. Born on March 10, 1949 in Amsterdam, NY she was the daughter of the late George and June Porath Goss. A lifelong city resident, Ida attended local schools. She was currently employed for Amsterdam Printing & Litho Company, where she had worked for many years. Ida was also an avid bingo and card player. Above all she loved her family and will be sadly missed by all who knew her. She was predeceased by her husband Gordon A. Brown; one brother, George Goss; three sisters, Barbara Faboskay, Patience Zea and June Miles. Survivors include her five sons, Bill Brown Sue Gonzalez, Scott Brown, Jene Brown Eldora Oeser, Matt Brown Marissa Baker and Justin Brown Jenna Coppolo; two daughters, Jennifer Brown Christopher Martinez and Heather Whitbeck and her husband Rodney; nine grandchildren, Cassandra, Jason Lee, Nicholas, Ashley, Jordan, Mercedes, Dylan, Lucas and Justin; two sisters, Debbie Van Burean and her husband Bruce and Cheryl Goss; several nieces, nephews and cousins. A Service of Remembrance will take place on Monday, March 28, 2011 at 10 o'clock at Betz, Rossi & Bellinger Family Funeral Home, 171 Guy Park Avenue, Amsterdam. Interment will follow in the Perth Cemetery. Relatives and friends are invited to call on Sunday, March 27, 2011 from 1 until 4p.m. at the funeral home.
