Idell Mae Lansing

Idell Mae Lansing passed away April 7, 2018, in Olympia, Washington. She was born February 4, 1925, to Earl R. and Neta C. (Shupe) Baker in Meadow Grove, Nebraska. She lived in Moscow, Idaho (1941-1942), where she graduated from high school in 1942, and Fresno, California (1942-1946), before moving to Olympia where she has resided for 72 years. Idell married Bruce K. King on March 20, 1943; he passed away March 6, 1960. She then married Raymond D. Lansing, who passed away August 8, 1983. Idell was a self-sufficient, hard working woman. She was a supervisor for the Washington Department of Employment Security, retiring June 1, 1982. She had a strong personality and was plain speaking, but was always willing to help someone in need. She also had a keen sense of fashion and was nearly always impeccably dressed. She loved gardening and volunteering for the Veterans of Foreign Wars. Idell is survived by her daughter, Sharon L. King of Olympia; six grandchildren; and three great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husbands, Bruce King and Raymond Lansing; and sons, Dennis King and Larry King.
