Ione V. Harrison, age 94, of Lakewood, passed away peacefully on December 20, 2017, with family by her side in Graham Washington. She was the daughter of Abraham and Evelyn Zielstra and was third of eleven siblings. Ione was born and raised on a farm in Ruthven Iowa. Like most farms in the area at the time, the house had no electricity, running water, or indoor plumbing. Electricity became available in 1941. She graduated from high school in 1940 from Lake Center Consolidated high school in Clay County Iowa. She later moved to California and participated in the war effort. She married Elton Laron “Ronnie” Harrison Sr. in Ouchita, Arkansas, and they soon relocated to Tacoma, Washington. Ione had a lifelong passion for gardening, and travel. She enjoyed visiting the local trade shows and fairs. She will always be remembered for her sense of humor, love of politics, resourcefulness, and pancakes. Ione is survived five of her siblings, Dale, Raymond, Floyd, and Carol Zielstra, and Linda Zielstra Poshsuta; by six of her seven children, Cheryl Wolcott, Steve Harrison (Tina), Michael Harrison (Alice), Jackie Harrison (Pordash), Penny Bracy (Dale), and Dennis Harrison (Annie); five grandchildren Tera Harrison Schreiber, Nicholas Pordash, David, Paul and Julie Harrison; and five great grandchildren Daisy, Ginger and Violet Schreiber, Natalie and Norah Pordash. Preceded in death by husband Elton Laron “Ronnie” Harrison Sr. (1967), and son Elton Laron “Buddy” Harrison Jr. (1974), son-in-law Jim Wolcott (2016), ), siblings Vernon Harrison (1966), Doris Zielstra Schaeffer (1982), Harold Zielstra (1998), Margaret Zielstra Dutra (2002), Ellen Zielstra Wall (1997), Wayne Zielstra (1931), father Abraham Zielstra (1978), and mother Evelyn Marie Chase Zielstra (1986).
