Ione Helena Lathrop, 97, of Colorado Springs, Colorado, died on August 30, 2024 and is now in the presence of the One who is the resurrection and the life, Jesus Christ. 

 

Ione was born in Minnesota to Edward and Clare Engen on June 6, 1927. She grew up in Frederick, Wisconsin and lived also in California, Alaska, Washington and Colorado. Ione was a teacher and homemaker who enjoyed praying, gardening, and traveling. 

 

She leaves behind two children: David (Lydia) Lathrop and Cynthia Corpuz along with four grandchildren: Aidan, Luke, Sean and Anna. 

 

A private graveside service will be held at Evergreen Cemetery in Colorado Springs.
