Irma Jean Quillin

1935 - 2024

"Cooking is love made visible."

Irma was born on July 2, 1935, in Scott Co., VA and was the daughter of W.J. and Katherine “Kate” Osborne Hillman.

 

In addition to her parents, her husband, Reverend J.B. Quillin Sr., infant daughter Carolyn Sue Quillin, and grandson Joshua Bryan Quillin preceded her in death. Also, Brothers Edgar, Mont, Jim, Bill, Charles, Lee, John, and Darius with sisters Shirley, Beaulah, and Bonnie preceding her in death.

 

Left to cherish her memories are her sons James Beauford Quillin Jr. and wife Judy and Timothy Allen Quillin and wife Michele. Grandsons Adam with wife Amanda, and Jacob with wife Lindsay and Granddaughter Kathryn. Also, great grandchildren Waylon, Maddy, Abby, Jaxon, Eden and Carter. Also, Irma’s brother Allen Hillman and wife Mary.

Irma was a very devoted wife to her loving husband and very faithful to her husband’s Ministry of 45 years. She was an immaculate Homemaker and was well known and appreciated for her talent in cooking. Irma was passionate in her love for God and her family.

 

The family will receive friends from 12:00 pm to 2:00 pm on Thursday, August 29, 2024, at Carter-Trent Scott County Funeral Home in Weber City, VA. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 pm with Pastor Tim Nelson and Reverend Gene Stallard officiating. The Quillin Family will provide the music with the help of Tony and Aaron Dingus. A graveside service will immediately follow at Holston View Cemetery Weber City, VA. Pallbearers will be family and friends. The Honorary Pallbearer will be Allen Hillman.

 

A very special appreciation is extended to Amedisys Hospice, especially the care provided by Diamond, RN; Also, the care provided by all the staff at NHC in Kingsport.

In Lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Church of your choice in memory of Irma.
