Isaac "Doc" Henderson Marcum

Isaac Henderson "Doc" Marcum, age 95, of Kingsport, went to be with the Lord on Friday, August 12, 2016 at Wexford House in Kingsport. He was a retiree of JP Stevens having given 49 years of service. He accepted the Lord as his Savior at age 44 and influenced many others by his Christian walk. He was of the Baptist faith. He was a veteran of the United States Army having proudly served during World War II in the Asiatic Pacific Theater. He was honored for his service by being awarded the Asiatic-Pacific Service Medal and the World War II Victory Medal. He was loved by many and will be greatly missed. He was preceded in death by his wife, Kathleen "Kat" Collings Marcum; 3 infant children; parents, William and Buna Minor Marcum; sisters, Marie Price, Sarah Kitzmiller, Bonnie Harrison and Ruby Marcum; brothers, Howard Marcum, Earl Marcum, Rueben Marcum and twin brother, Simp Marcum. He is survived by his daughter, Sharron Mauk (Rick); grandchildren, April Bear, Aric Mauk and T.J. "Thomas" Miller; 5 great grandchildren; brother, Robert "Bob" Marcum; several brothers and sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews and a host of extended family and friends. The family will receive friends from 5:00 pm - 7:00 pm on Monday, August 15, 2016 at Carter-Trent Funeral Home in Kingsport. Funeral services will begin at 7:00 pm with Rev. Jeff Strong. Military graveside services will be held at 12:00 pm on Tuesday, August 16, 2016 at Holston View Cemetery in Weber City, VA.
