Barela, Isabel, age 82, a resident of Albuquerque, born August 4, 1930, passed away on Wednesday, January 16, 2013. Mrs. Barela was preceded in death by her husband, Amador Barela and sons, Gilbert, Jimmy and Dennis. She is survived by her nine children, Gloria Montano and husband, Paul, Johnny Barela, Fidel Barela, Katy Garcia, Amador Barela, Jolanda Montano and husband, Raymond, Sandra Barela, Filomeno Barela, and Teresa Fay and husband, Robert; twenty-five grandchildren; forty-one great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; brothers, Alberto Chavez and wife, Flora, Demetrio Chavez and wife, Josie, and Paul Chavez; sisters, Lucia Valdez and Josie Valencia; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, other family members and friends. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, January 22, 2013 at 9:00 AM at Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church, located at 9502 Fourth St. NW. Interment will follow at San Carlos Cemetery. Arrangements entrusted to Riverside Funeral Home of Albuquerque, 225 San Mateo Blvd. NE, 764-9663.
