Ismil Mendez, passed away September 24, 2007. Born August 18, 1930 in San Jose, California where he grew up most of his life. Ismil Mendez was born to Maria Cortez , whom he cherished and spoke often of. As an adult he moved to Salinas where he lived out the rest of his life. Salinas is where he met Alice Wilson his beloved..Ismil Mendez was full of life and had a strong will. He was caring and selfless giving himself to those who required help. Even though he appeared to have rough edges, his heart was made of pure gold. Ismil Mendez was a loving uncle and stepfather. He will be missed and remembered by all who knew him. Surviving are his stepchildren Randy and Vicky Wilson; grandchildren Clayton and April Wilson; great-granddaughter Cheyanne Wilson; nieces Anita Mendez, Jessica Mendez, Alicia Martinez; nephews Richard Mendez and Christopher Downing. Also his cherished dog Spike. Memorial services will be held on September 27, 2007 at 1:00 Healey Mortuary. Ismil Mendez's ashes will be placed next to his brother Charles Mendez Klamath, California at the Henry Blake Allotment Site.
