Ivonne Yanina Compton

Ivonne Yanina Compton, age 58, of Las Vegas, died Wednesday, September 26, 2012. Ivonne was born September 18, 1954 in Cali Colombia, to the late Rafael and Olga (Obregon) Diaz. Ivonne spent her career in healthcare in Chicago where she was able to help many people recover. As a Catholic her passion was the church. Ivonne dedicated her time and love selflessly to the church by participating in activities and sharing her love and good fortune at Christ the King Catholic Church. Ivonne was very involved with the Hispanic community and loved her culture and her people. Her kindness and love touched many people in a favorable way that made her life and their life better. She was loved by many and will be missed by all that knew her. She is survived by her husband of 18 years, Gregory Compton; mother Olga (Obregon) Diaz; brothers Freddy Obregon of Chicago Area, Bruno Diaz of Bogota, Colombia, Rafael Diaz of Cali, Colombia, Hugo Diaz of San Diego, CA, Dino Diaz of FL, Guido Diaz of FL, and Diego Diaz of FL; step-sons Rory Compton of CA, and Kevin Compton of AZ; grandchildren Emily Lynn Compton and Wyatt Hamilton Compton of CA; and numerous nephew & nieces. In lieu of flowers donations in Ivonne's memory may be made to the Susan G Komen Fund. Services will be held at Christ the King Catholic Church (4925 South Torrey Pines Drive Las Vegas, NV 89118), the viewing is Wednesday October 3rd 10:00 a.m., and the Catholic service follows the viewing on the 3rd 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. A luncheon at 12:00 p.m. will follow the mass and will be in Christ the King the Community Center next to the church.
