Warren Tanner September 24, 1925 ~ September 8, 2007 Salinas J.Warren Tanner, 81, died peacefully on September 8, 2007. J.W. was born on September 24, 1925 and raised in central Texas. He served in the U.S. Navy in San Diego, CA and was deployed to WWII to honor our country in 1943. Soon after the navy he married Geneva Selby and they relocated to the Salinas valley. J.W. went to work for Bud Antle Produce where he continued to work for 35 years until retiring in 1990. J.W. traveled all over the United States and one of his favorite places to visit was Branson, MO. He was a loving, thoughtful and generous man whose life touched and blessed others with his kindness and selfless acts. J.W. was a long time member of Valley Baptist Church where he enjoyed many friends and a loving church family. He is preceded in death by his first wife, Geneva and second wife, Jane Tanner. J.W. is survived by wife Shirley Tanner of Salinas, CA; daughter Midge (Chris) Aldrich of Seaside, CA; grandchildren Dylan Debusk of Phoenix, AZ, Jessa and Ethan Aldrich of Seaside, brother Tom Tanner of Salinas and sister June Sanford of Belton, TX. Memorial service will be held at Healey Funeral Chapel, 405 N. Sanborn Rd., Salinas, at 11:00a.m. Wednesday, September 12, 2007. Published in the Monterey Herald on 9/11/2007.

Healey hoped to find a way to continue to meaningfully help his county and community grow. He and his wife founded Salinas Valley Mortuary in 1956 to help serve the families in the Salinas Valley area. Their lifelong mission was to unselfishly serve area families based on their strong, trusting relationship with their community – something we honor to this day almost seven decades years later....
