Jack Blake
January 8th, 1942 - August 26th, 2019
After a brave battle with cancer Jack Blake passed away Monday morning August 26th in Salinas California. Jack was born in San Jose California. He was raised by his grandparents on a one thousand acre ranch in the Bonnie Doon mountains of California. Jack's professional life included owning two small businesses, barber, reserve Sheriff Deputy for Santa Cruz county, Doctorate in Naturopathy all while maintaining a fully functioning ranch. Jack's many interests included hunting, fishing, hiking, gun enthusiast, traveling, Elks Lodge member, chairman of an all men's dining club, fairs, festivals, playing piano, playing harmonica, watching movies, history buff, reading, raising exotic birds and many varieties of fruit trees. Jack traveled to Washington State to Elk hunt, the High Sierras to fish/hike and became a Mexican Citizen obtaining duel Citizenship and even owned property in Mexico. He leaves behind three Children Debbie Blake, John Blake, William Blake, two step children Jeanette Romig, Jason Hand, seven grandchildren, two great grandchildren and his wife of forty five years Geneva Blake.

At Healey, we treat our Salinas Valley community members like family. Our story begins after World War II when Veteran Herbert C. Healey hoped to find a way to continue to meaningfully help his county and community grow. He and his wife founded Salinas Valley Mortuary in 1956 to help serve the families in the Salinas Valley area. Their lifelong mission was to unselfishly serve area families based on their strong, trusting relationship with their community – something we honor to this day almost seven decades years later....
