Jack William Carlson

Jack Carlson was born on June 1, 1953 and passed away on May 7, 2016. He is survived by his only son Joseph Carlson. Jack believed that if you were a friend then you were a family member. He would rarely accept food or gifts from people, even when he spent time and money helping them out. Instead, he would talk to you for an hour or two every night if you needed it or even if you didn't. He really cared about how you were and what you had been up to, even if it was the smallest thing that didn't really seem to matter to you. Jack wanted to hear it all. If you were busy or not around, he might stop by just to steal a cup of coffee from you, or just a cup for the road at a later date, but he always spent time with the people that meant the most to him. Jack would actually give people his old clothing in person and made sure it fit before you left his house. He didn't make a lot of food to offer company when they came over, but he still managed to find cookies to give out and good advice. He will be deeply missed and loved by everyone he ever met. There will be a memorial service held at the First Congressional Church 7209 S. Puget Sound Ave Tacoma Wa on Sunday May 29th at 12:30pm. There will be a potluck after the service. The Reverend Sheila Kirkland of the Spiritualist Church of Divine light will read a message along with any friends or family that would like to share any stories about Jack's life.
