Jack Noel Clupper

May 19th, 1932 - April 15th, 2023

OBITUARY – Jack Noel Clupper – Lexington, SC – The family of Jack Noel Clupper, 90, of Lexington, will have a private memorial gathering. Woodridge Funeral Home of Lexington is assisting the family with arrangements. Jack Clupper went to be with the Lord on April 15, 2023. Born in 1932 in Wabash, IN, he was the son of the late Noel Schrantz Clupper and Eva Rogers Clupper. Jack graduated from Purdue University with a degree in Chemical Engineering, and worked for the Savannah River Nuclear Plant before transferring to the Martinsville, VA Nylon Plant. He retired from DuPont in 1986 after 30 years of service. Jack and his wife relocated to Lake Murray, SC, where he built a timber-framed 16-sided round house he named “Hexadeca Haven”. Jack was a long time member of Saxe Gotha Presbyterian Church in Lexington, SC where he sang in the choir and used his carpentry skills for projects throughout the church. In addition to his lifelong hobby of woodworking, Jack also enjoyed singing with the “Martinsville Singing Men”, and was a charter member of the Lexington County Choral Society. Other activities he enjoyed were camping, sailing, fishing, square dancing, and volunteering with home repair groups and the Lexington County Library. Jack is survived by his loving wife of 66 years, Christine Hodson Clupper of the home; daughters, Margot C. Beebe and son-in-law Brian of Fayetteville, GA, Karen C. McCready and son-in-law Andy of Pulaski, VA; granddaughter, Savannah G. Ivy and husband Rob of Peachtree City, GA; and several nieces. In addition to his parents, Jack was predeceased by his sister, Mary C. Frank Copeland. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Lexington County Choral Society or the Lexington County Public Library.
