Sadly, Jack Raynor, age 83, passed away at home in Weiser, Idaho Friday December 8, 2023, after a lengthy battle with cancer. Arrangements are under the direction of Shaffer-Jensen Memory Chapel, Payette, Idaho. Jack was born in Emmett Idaho, September 30, 1940, to James and Imogene Raynor. At the age of four the family moved to Atlanta, Idaho and later moved to Meridian, Idaho where he graduated from high school in 1957. Jack proudly served his country in Vietnam earning the rank of Sergeant in the 25th Infantry Division and received an honorable discharge. He met his future wife of 53 years Patty Astorquia of Gooding, Idaho and they were married in 1970. He retired from Idaho Power after 35 plus years of service. Jack was a master woodworker, a true craftsman. He spent countless hours in his wood shop building furniture for friends and family and even through the most challenging times of the disease, you could still find him in the woodshop. Anyone that has a “Raynor” built piece of furniture knows its quality and certainly its weight. Jack loved the outdoors and enjoyed his Polaris General adventures in the mountains. He is survived by his wife Patty, their children Jim, Jeff, and a sizable extended family. Jack was preceded in death by his parents James and Imogene Raynor and two sisters, Sammy, and Pat. The family would like to thank the outpouring of support and the caring hands of Ancora Hospice of Fruitland. As per Jack’s request there will be no service. In lieu of flowers we are requesting donations be made in Jack’s name to a favorite charity.
