Jack Wood Smith, III passed on March 6, 2021 as a result of complications from a disease he battled with courage most of his adult life. Jack was 43 years old. A member of the 1995 graduating class Brooklyn Cayce High School, Jack went on to work in construction. After spending many years as a superintendent building restaurants, Jack became a Licensed General Contractor. He was a “jack of all trades” and took great pride in his work. Jack loved nature and spending time outdoors. He took up golf and soccer at a young age and excelled in both. Over the years Jack served in his community through his work with Habitat for Humanity, tutoring, {math of course}, with the Big Sister/Big Brother organization, and participating in the Midlands Christmas Adopt-A-Family program. Jack is predeceased by the following: Maternal and paternal grandparents; Barney L. Floyd, Sr., Barbara C. Floyd, Jack W. Smith, Sr., Jacquelyn R. Smith, E. D.
