Jackie Lea Griffin Ashenbrenner of Everett, WA passed away peacefully on Monday, December 27, 2010 at the home of her daughter and son-in-law, Becky and Bob Eilert, with her family by her side. She was born May 22, 1939 in Grants Pass, OR. And lived in a log cabin built by her Dad. Jackie was raised in Ellensburg, WA where she attended High School, when she met and married Roger Griffin. They moved to Seattle and then Bellevue where they welcomed three beautiful daughters. In her Bellevue years, she enjoyed endless activities with her girls and neighborhood friends, as well as employment in floral design, accounting and office management. The family enjoyed many years of camping together and large family gatherings. She was a devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother along with care taking and nurturing many family members and friends. She moved to Mutiny Bay on Whidbey Island, where she had been continuously visiting since childhood and remained there for nearly 20 years. She took pride in working as an office manager and did catering at the S. Whidbey American Legion. Jackie enjoyed volunteering as the State Park host on Whidbey making friends in Jackie Style. Jackie so loved the beach life and most of all, fishing (she was often featured in Hunting and Fishing News for her success). She was a miraculous gardener and forever shared the fruits, vegetables, and flowers of her labor with friends. In later years, she relocated to Silver Lake, to be closer to her family. Surrounding herself with the love and laughter of family and friends was most important. She enjoyed swim classes with the girls. An astounding chef, she loved to cook for her family and friends and a dazzling fare was always a guarantee. Jackie was most creative, kind, loving, true and patient with everyone she met. She had a triumphant spirit and an immeasurable amount of faith and love for life. The last 5.5 years she looked forward to and treasured the wonderful care and friendship of the staff at Providence Regional Cancer partnership, as her family we are forever grateful, you contributed greatly to Mom never giving up hope.
