Jackie Kay Boyd
June 17th, 1944 - May 3rd, 2016
Jackie Kay Boyd (Kirby) Jackie Kay Boyd (Kirby) of Yuba City, CA, passed away on May 3, 2016 at the age of 71. She was born at Rideout Hospital in Marysville in the summer of 1944. She was the youngest of five children and was raised in Yuba City where she attended Barry & Lincoln Elementary Schools and later Yuba City High School, graduating Class of 1962. She went on to further her education at Chico State University. Jackie worked for nearly 25 years in Real Estate Sales & Management. She began her career in Yuba City and later moved to Sacramento, continuing her career in Real Estate. During that time, she met her late husband, Michael Boyd, of 25 years. Shortly after retiring, Jackie and Mike moved back to her hometown of Yuba City in 2004. For many years, Jackie and Mike loved spending as much time as possible with extended family and friends. They enjoyed social gatherings, traveling, golfing, and relaxing at their Lake Almanor cabin. They attended numerous professional sporting events. They were both avid Sacramento Kings fans and season ticket holders for 17 years. They were also Pittsburgh Steelers fans and never missed a Steeler game. Throughout most of her life, she greatly enjoyed being an active member of several social clubs such as The International Order of Rainbow for Girls, The Beta Gamma Chapter, Delta Chi Sigma Sorority, and The Peach Tree Golf & Country Club. After her husband's death, she always looked forward to meeting with friends, and planning social events and dinners with the Twin Cities Riding Club. Jackie was supportive to all who knew and loved her. At times she had a silly and "wacky" sense of humor, never failing to make others laugh. She left a lasting impression in many peoples lives and will be forever remembered. Jackie was preceded in death by her father, mother, two older sisters, and her husband. She is survived by her two older brothers Sparky Kirby (Marilyn), Lucky Kirby (Debbie), son John Vertrees (Lynette), daughter Michelle Flynn, and numerous nieces and nephews. She loved them all, "Front & Back". At her request, a burial service only will be held at Sutter Cemetery (Sutter Buttes) located at 7200 Butte Avenue off of Butte House Rd. in Sutter, CA on Saturday, May 14, 2016 at 11:00 am. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The your favorite charity . Arrangements are under the direction of Ullrey Memorial Chapel, (530) 673-9542.
