Jackie Lee Johnson, passed away, November 23, 2021, at Novant Health Forsyth Medical Center. Jackie was born December 7, 1936, in Pitt County, NC to the late James Snowden Johnson and the late Dorothy Coker Johnson. He grew up in Carolina Beach, NC and Glenco, NC. Jackie graduated from Pleasant Grove High School in 1955. Jackie proudly served his country in the United States Navy from 1956-1962 and in the United States Coast Guard from 1963-1970. In 1990, he moved to Kernersville to work at Deere-Hitachi Machinery Construction Corporation, retiring in 1997. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Jerry Johnson; brothers, James (Bud) Johnson, Edward (Ed) Johnson; sisters, Peggy Gregory, Margaret Hurdle, Janie Tucker; Brothers-in-law, William (Bill) Hurdle, James (Greg) Gregory, William (Red) Boswell. Surviving are his wife, Dorothy Johnson of the home; sister, Betty Boswell of Alamance County; stepchildren, Tom Beanblossom (Jeanette) of Denton, Vicki Smith (Brian) of Ridgeville, S.C.; step-grandchildren, Jennifer Cullen (Joe) of Martinsburg, WV, Matt Beanblossom (Kristen) of Thomasville; step-great-grandchildren, Logan, Zach, Landon, Lester, Denton; several nieces and nephews; children, Julie Baker (Terry) of Boiling Springs, SC, Jonathan Johnson of Asheville; special neighbor, Jim Bowers; special friends, Susie Hartman, Larry and Shirley Barleykamp; and special grand pal, Leslie Woodley. There will not be a visitation. Memorial services will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the charity of your choice.
