Jackie S. Kinnison
October 13th, 1943 - April 7th, 2018
Obituary Jacqueline Sue Kinnison was born October 13, 1943 in Colby, Kansas to William and Norma Baird. When she was 14 years old she met her husband-to-be, David Kinnison who had just graduated from high school. After just a couple of years, they were married when she was still 16 and he was 20. After they were married, she continued her education, finished high school, and studied for 2 more years at Colorado State University. They had two daughters born to them, Tami and Kisti, and Jackie devoted herself as a loving mother to raising the two girls. When they left the home, she looked for something to keep herself active and challenged and found a job with ESAB, a growing Swiss manufacturing company, quickly became a leader in her department and worked there for about 8 years. A new opportunity presented itself shortly after that with Water Pik where she began as a Buyer, and then was promoted to Senior Buyer. The company then became Teledyne Water Pik and continued to expand. In fact under new management, Jackie was sent by her boss to China to find new vendors. She was very successful in doing so, but unbeknownst to her, was working herself out of a job, because soon after that Teledyne moved their plant to Asia! Subsequently, Jackie found new work with Atlas Roofing before she retired, and for about 2 years actually managed the roofing crews, making sure they got their work done, and did it right! David and Jackie bought a forty-acre lot in 1998 near the Wyoming border north of Craig, Colorado, and worked for the next six years building a cabin and thereafter spending time there each summer. She loved knitting, crocheting and needlepoint, and especially loved animals and children. Jackie accepted Christ as her Savior as a girl, and David had become a born-again Christian in his adult years. They were sincere and grew in their faith together, even starting and pastoring a ministry for a season. Last summer they found their church home at Grace Fellowship in Fort Collins. In about 2010, Jackie began showing the early symptoms of Alzheimers disease, which gradually progressed to the present time and contributed to her recent death just last Saturday, April 7, 2018. She passed peacefully into the presence of the Lord she loved, with her loving husband at her side who had spent the morning reading the words of her favorite songs to her which she had collected in a folder. Throughout her life she was recognized as someone whose love and kindness extended to all, from the least to the greatest. A memorial service to celebrate her life will be held at Grace Fellowship, 1201 N. College on Thursday at 2:00 PM.
