Jackie Ray Quillen

Our beloved brother Jackie Ray Quillen passed away on Thursday, August 17, 2017 at Holston Valley Medical Center. Jack was born on October 1, 1939 to the late Ezra D. Quillen and Lottie E. Quillen. Jack was a veteran of the U.S. Army and a member of the American Legion. He was self-employed with his brother Buddy as a Masonry Contractor. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his brother, James "Buddy" Quillen; sister, Venus Blankenbeckler; nephew, Tony Scott Quillen; sister-in-law, Marlene Quillen. Survivors include sisters, Ruby Whiten (Wayne), Betty J. Lawson; brother-in-law, Buford Blankenbeckler (Jane); nephews, Gary Blankenbeckler, Tim Blankenbeckler (Nora), Stephen Whiten (Shirley), Greg Whiten (Donna), and David Quillen (Sherry); niece, Leah Ann Qualls (Jeff); along with several great-nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 5pm to 7pm on Sunday, August 20, 2017 at Scott County Funeral Home. A funeral service will follow in the chapel with Pastor Buford Blankenbeckler officiating. A military graveside will be conducted on Monday, August 21, 2017 at the Hiltons Cemetery with American Legion Hammond Post #3/265 conducting the honors. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers. Those wishing to attend are asked to meet at the cemetery by 10:55 AM. In lieu of flowers a donation may be made to a charity of your choosing.
