Jacob Joshua Loring died on December 22, 2022 in Greenville, SC. Jacob was 31 years of age. He was born February 26, 1991 in Cherry Point, NC. Jacob graduated high school in Novato, CA in 2009. He married Carolyn Rose Hathaway on January 11, 2019. As the son of a Coast Guardsman, Jacob lived in many places, including Attleboro, MA, Toledo, OH, Slidell, LA, and Novato, CA before he returned home to Massachusetts where he lived and worked as a sous chef in Plymouth, MA. Jacob was a kind and generous man. He had an adventurous spirit, and a deep love for his family. He enjoyed fishing and was always game for a spicy food challenge. Jacob is survived by his parents, Joe and Lori Loring, his brother, Caleb Loring, and his sister Corinne Loring. He is also survived by his grandparents Tom and Pat McAfee of Bass Harbor, ME, Susan H. McAfee of Walled Lake, MI, and Henry (Bud) and Joan Loring of Gainesville, GA. Jacob also leaves behind many loving aunts, uncles, and cousins. A memorial for Jacob will take place on January 7, 2023 at 11 am at The Island Funeral Home in Hilton Head, SC. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Jacob’s life.
