Jacob (Jay) "Kingpin" Munson: A Life Vibrantly Lived, Tragically Cut Short

The hearts of countless loved ones crackle with grief as we announce the sudden passing of Jacob "Jay" Munson in a motorcycle accident on Thursday, February 29th. This wasn't Jay's fault; a cruel twist of fate stole an amazing man from the world.

Words fail us. Jay's infectious humor, unwavering kindness, and goofy charm were as legendary as his dedication to family and community. He leaves a void no one can fill.

Beyond the Ride: A Man of Depth

While "Kingpin" thundered down the road on his Harley-Davidson, those who knew Jay best saw him as a devoted son, showering his parents with love. As an eternal companion, his love for his spouse was a beacon. But his most cherished role was "Dad" – especially to his special needs son, Bastien. They were two peas in a pod, reveling in "nerdy" hobbies, spending time in the great outdoors, and riding motorcycles as a family. Bastien will miss his father's tickles, bad jokes, and most of all, his herculean hero of a dad.

A Heart of Service

Jay's kindness overflowed. A selfless volunteer, he championed those in need. Whether it was teaching children at his church, mentoring Cub Scouts, or giving his time to the American Legion, Jay's generosity touched countless lives. His generosity extended even beyond his passing through organ donation. Jay’s heart lives on!

Rooted in Faith

Jay's unwavering faith was the cornerstone of his life, guiding him with unwavering obedience.

A Patriot's Spirit

Jay served his country for five years, and for another twenty as a military spouse. He recently confided that the best thing the Army ever gave him was his wife, Sonie.

A Life Well-Traveled

Jay lived a life most can only dream of. He left a positive impact everywhere he went, across 4 continents, 20 countries, and nearly every state in the US! So many more adventures were planned, but time was cut short.

Ride On, Jay

Jay leaves behind his loving wife, Sonie, their son Bastien, parents Jeffrey and Patricia Munson, and brothers Erik and Nick.

Let's Keep Jay's Spirit Alive: Share the Road, Look Out for Motorcycles

In Jay's memory, we urge all drivers to be extra cautious and vigilant when sharing the road with motorcycles. Motorcycles are less visible than cars, and a moment of inattention can have devastating consequences. Double-check your mirrors and blind spots before changing lanes, and always yield the right of way to motorcycles, especially at night!
