Jacob "Jake" Allen Sell

Jacob “Jake” Allen Sell passed away November 14th 2021 at the age of 24. He grew up in Oakdale, MN, and graduated from Tartan Senior High. Jake was preceded in death by his mother, Michelle (Johnson) Sell; grandparents, Vearl and Margaret Johnson; grandfather, Milton Sell; and uncles, Don Sell and Dan Handrahan. He is survived by his father, John Sell; sister, Ashley (Ryan); brother, Chris; grandmother, Ramona (Forest); aunts, Monica (John), Kathy, Linda (Joe), Julie (Mike), and Janet; uncles, Bob (Mary), Milt (Nancy); niece, Audriana; and many close cousins, great friends and co-workers. Jake loved with all his heart and took every opportunity to let those close to him know it. Whether it was at his job working as a cook at Neumann’s Bar, working security at The Cabooze or just hanging out and meeting new people, Jake was always ready with a joke and loved to make people laugh. On July 19th of 2019, Jake was involved in an accident and suffered a traumatic brain injury that changed the course of his life. He fought a tough battle toward recovery, surprising even the doctors with his progress. We were all given a special gift of these extra two years and witnessed his strength and perseverance in conquering many obstacles in his way and we were all blessed with the extra time we were given. A visitation will be held at Sandberg Funeral Home in North St. Paul on Tuesday, November 23, 2021 from 5-7pm. Mass of Christian burial on Wednesday, November 24, 2021 at 10:30 at Transfiguration Catholic Church in Oakdale with visitation one hour prior.
