Jacqueline Baldridge
March 16th, 1939 - January 1st, 2012
Biography Jacqueline “Kay” Cockrell Baldridge passed away peacefully on February 1, 2012. She was surrounded by her loving daughters and adoring dogs. She was born in Kathleen, Florida on March 16, 1939. She graduated from Kathleen High School in 1957. She worked for a TV studio and then Martin Marietta. When she married, she chose the career of mother and homemaker. After 24 years, she went back to work part-time as a substitute teacher for Brevard County Schools, then full-time as a phone operator, finishing her career in the mail room. Kay was an avid gardener, canasta and bridge player, and loved spending time with her family and dogs. She loved being around people and was the ‘life of the party’. Her sense of humor, delicious southern cooking and beautiful smile will be greatly missed. She was preceded in death by her husband of 45 years, Jim, and her brother, Pat Cockrell. Kay is survived by her daughters, Jessica (Alan) Baleyko, Jocelyn (Don) Downs, Jaclyn (Steve) Crotwell, Janeen (Stephen) Wietgrefe. She is also survived by six granddaughters, Alyse, Chelsea, Kinsey, Cassidy, Katrina, and Carly; three grandsons, James, Evan, Colin; and two great-grandsons, Zack and Dylan. A Celebration of Life will be held at 11 am, Saturday, February 4th, at Grace United Methodist Church, 65 Needle Blvd. in Merritt Island. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to VITAS Hospice, 4450 W. Eau Gallie Blvd., Suite 250, Melbourne, FL 32934.
