Jai Krishin Amar

Charlotte, NC " Dada Jai Krishin Amar (Jack Amar), 87, son of late Sri Chatomal and Santok Bai Amarnani, died on Sunday, February 15th, 2015 at the Hospice House, Kings Mountain, NC. He leaves his wife Dadi Durupati Amar, his sons Narain Amar, Mahadev Amar, Nanik Amar, his daughter Lata Nawani, his son-in-law, Bhagwan Nawani and son-in-law Lal Gokaldas; eight grandchildren; six great-grandchildren including close relatives and friends. Born in Mirpur Khas, Sindh (now in Pakistan), Jack graduated from Aligarh University and pursued his passion of teaching History and English in the Government Sindhi Higher Secondary School, Rajinder Nagar, New Delhi, India. He moved to North Carolina in 1980, and started Pushpa Fashions in Shelby and Forest City, a retail clothing outlet. He retired from his business in 1993 and chose to move back to his roots in New Delhi with his wife. He recently was not feeling well, and came back to North Carolina to spend time with his loving, extended family. Jack was a philanthropist and was actively engaged in community services in New Delhi, especially at the Arya Samaj Mandir. He served as the president of the Sindhi Association at Sarita Vihar in New Delhi. He was also actively involved in the inception of the Hindu Center of Charlotte while in North Carolina.
