James Albert Abernathy

James, a 40-year resident of Monterey, has gone home to glory. He passed away in his home in Nashville TN. James was a man who loved God deeply and believed in being a good neighbor to all. He would often stop and talk to people about anything while offering a warm hello or good morning. James was a hard working and believed in helping his fellow man. James had a passion for gardening and was often found in his yard tending his garden. James joins his wife Lovey and brothers Robert Lee and Joseph. He is survived by his sons James Abernathy Jr, Dwayne Abernathy and Lyndon Abernathy. Grand children Jeneen Abernathy, Jameen Hodges, Latitia Hollins James Marc Anthony Abernathy, Karissa Abernathy and Christian Abernathy. Great grand children Kalia Hodges, Laila Hodges, Maurice Hodges and Serenity Abernathy. Siblings John Abernathy, Margret Coleman, Edward Abernathy, Thomas Abernathy, Leroy Abernathy. He also had many nieces, nephews and cousins. He was loved by all and will be dearly missed. Visitation will be held from 4PM - 7PM on Friday March 10, 2017 at Jordan Funeral Home, 327 Mill St, Pulaski, TN 38478. The funeral service will take place on Saturday March 11, 2017, with visitation from 11AM until 12PM, and the service at 12PM at the Greater Richland Creek Association, 1033 Bledsoe Rd, Pulaski, TN 38478. Repass after services. James will be laid to rest at the San Carlos Cemetery Monterey, CA on a future date, next to his beloved Lovey. Service Information
