James "Jim" Andrew Adler
August 2nd, 1939 - November 19th, 2016
JAMES A. ADLER age 77 of Jefferson passed away on Saturday November 19, 2016 at Wellington Meadows in Fort Atkinson, following his courageous battle with cancer. He was born on August 2, 1939 in Watertown to Andrew and Alice (Niebler) Adler. Jim served in the United States Air Force in 1958 and then the US Air Force Reserves until July of 1963. He married Roberta Schultz on September 21, 1961 in LaGrange. He worked for the Jefferson County Sheriff's Department for 26 years, following his retirement at the Sheriff's department he worked for the Jefferson City Police department for 5 years and drove cars for the Auto Auction. Jim and Roberta enjoyed camping and were members of several Camping clubs. Jim also was an avid train collector. He was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Jefferson and the Knights of Columbus. He will be deeply missed by his family, wife Roberta of Fort Atkinson, sons Thomas Adler of Jefferson, and Greg Adler of Fort Atkinson. Grandchildren Bethany Adler and Ginny Lane, great grandson Eli Messier. Brother-in-law Ed Hoffer of Jefferson. He is preceded in death by his son Timothy Adler in 1997 and his sister Carol Hoffer. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 12:00 noon on Saturday November 26, 2016 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Jefferson with the Rev. Thomas Coyle officiating. Burial will be at a later date in the Parish Cemetery. Visitation will be at the Church on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of Mass. Memorials in Jim's name can be giving to Jefferson Rainbow Hospice or to St. John the Baptist Catholic Church.
