We are sad to announce the passing of James Lewis Alexander of James Island, SC. James passed away at the age of 84 on January 7, 2024, after a courageous battle with colon cancer surrounded by loved ones who will continue to honor his legacy. His battle with cancer showed his courage in facing life challenges with a smile. Despite the struggle, he stayed strong until the end and never complained. He was born to Maria Panousis and Lambros Alexander on February 1, 1939, in Charlotte, NC. After graduating from Harding High School, James entered the United States Navy where he served four years. He then entered the field of photography and television which became a true lifelong passion of his. He was a videographer and retired from WCBD News 2. James was preceded to heaven by his mother, father, his wife, Maxine Alexander and his son James Alexander Jr. He is survived by his son, Robert Alexander of James Island; his daughter, Danielle Lupton (Charles) of Huger, SC; and three grandchildren: Chelsea Jamieson, Brooke Lupton, and Vance Lupton. A celebration of life will be held later with only close family members present.
