James Michael Allen
March 12th, 1956 - January 19th, 2020
James Michael Allen, “Mike” to his friends and family, 63 of St. Petersburg, Florida left us peacefully on Sunday, January 19, 2020 at St. Anthony’s Hospital. Born March 12th, 1956 in Bad Kreuznach, Germany, Mike lived in several places as a child traveling with his military father until they settled in Lawton Oklahoma. There he met his wife of nearly 40 years, Laurie. They married and moved to Florida together in 1980. Mike is survived by her as well as his siblings Mark Allen, Barbara and David Pearson and Jody and Jerry Townsend, several nieces and nephews, and his beloved dog Sassy. Mike’s greatest passion was sailing, but he also loved bowling, music and movies. He had a special compassion for dogs and always had four legged children in his life. We lost a man with a caring, empathetic nature and a wonderful sense of humor that carried him through to the end. A “Celebration of his Life” will be forthcoming. In lieu of flowers memorial donations can be made to the SPCA.
