James H. Askew, many knew him as "Bud", 91 years, born February 26, 1926 in Oklahoma, one of ten children of father William Perry Askew and mother Anna Kate Askew, went home to be with the Lord March 3rd, 2017. Bud retired from Chevron Chemicals of Richmond, CA. He lived in Yuba City with his wife Penny Askew. She went home to be with the Lord in 2004. He survived by his daughter Diana Buckingham, James H. Askew Jr. and stepchildren Alex Kolex and Keith Kimbel. Bud is also survived by one sibling June Leonard of Yuba City, CA. He had numerous grandchildren and great-grand children, cousins, nieces and nephews that adored and loved him dearly. Bud was a proud Veteran of World War II era. He went into the Navy the first time in 1944 and served a second term in 1948. Our Dad, Grandpa, Uncle, Papa and known to friends as "Bud", loved to make folks laugh and smile. He was always humorous and said "Hello" to everyone and anybody. As I write these words they only hint, of the kind of person he was. I feel he leaves behind a legacy that we all won't forget. The Celebration of Life will be held on April 22, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Jim Clark officiating at Crossroads Community Church, 445 B St., Yuba City, CA 95991. There will be a reception following the service. In lieu of flowers we request donations to be donated to the Crossroads Community Church in honor of "Bud" Askew.
