James Walter Diamond, born April 19th, 1941 in Versailles, KY, passed away peacefully on August 20, 2018 in Georgetown, KY. He was preceded in death by his parents Joseph Walter and Marjorie Johnson Diamond. Jim is survived by his wife of 56 years, Gladys Murray Diamond; sons, Joseph Keller (Cheryl) Diamond, Georgetown, KY and Steven Murray (Cardelia) Howell-Diamond, Huntsville, AL; brother, Charles Donald (Shela) Diamond, Midway, KY; and 5 loving grandchildren, Rachel, Taylor, Zanna, Sara, and Wyatt. Jim led a full life of service as a high school band director, a Cumberland Presbyterian Pastor, and a Police Chaplain in Smyrna, TN until his retirement at the age of 74. He was a Master Mason in the Sam Davis Lodge and also a 32nd Degree Scottish Rights Mason, a member of the Jamestown Society, Son of the American Revolution, Sons of the Confederacy, and Baron of the Magna Carta. A Memorial Service will be held 1p, Thursday, August 23, 2018 at Clark Funeral Home, Rose Hill, in Versailles, KY, with burial to follow at Midway Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5-7p Wednesday, at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, the family requests Memorial Donations be made in Jim's honor to the Memphis Theological Seminary.
