James William Dieter, 69, of Port Charlotte passed away on December 10th, 2021. James was born on September 7th, 1952 in Fostoria, Ohio to Parents James Leroy Dieter and Joyce Adelaide (Brown) Dieter. James was a Vietnam Era Veteran who served from 1972 until 1974 in the US Army stationed at Fort Campbell, Kentucky. In January of 1983, he moved to Florida from Ohio Where he was employed as an Automatic Transmission Rebuilder and Repair Technician at Cox Chevrolet in Bradenton, Marlowe Pontiac, Buick in Punta Gorda and Stinnett's Pontiac in Sarasota. He also retired from Sarasota Vo-Tech, now Suncoast Technical College, after over 20 years of teaching as a Master Instructor for Automotive Technology, Power Equipment Technologies and General Motors STG Transmission classes. James graduated from Terra Technical College in Freemont, Ohio and help ASE Certifications as a Master Automobile Technician, Advanced Level Specialist, Maintenance and Light Repair Technician and held a Briggs & Stratton Certification. James is preceded in death by his parents James Leroy Dieter of Risingsun, Ohio and Joyce Adelaide (Brown) Dieter of Eagleville, Ohio; and Brother in-law Tom Babb of Fostoria, Ohio. He is survived by his sons Jason Allen (Melissa) Dieter of Great Falls, Montana, Eric Andrew (Kelsye) Dieter of Port Charlotte, Florida, Sean James (Ashleigh) Dieter of Tampa, Florida; Granddaughter Caroline Eloise Dieter; Grandson Franklin James Dieter; Siblings Ardella Ann (Tom) Babb of Fostoria, Ohio, Greg Leroy Dieter of Fostoria, Ohio, Denise Rae (Steve) Brown of Fostoria, Ohio and Linda Loui (Kirk) Eynon of Bowling Green, Ohio. Along with numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews. Visitation will be held on Friday, December 17th, beginning at 9:00 AM and ending at 11:00 AM at Charlotte Memorial Funeral Home, 9400 Indian Springs Cemetery Rd, Punta Gorda, Florida 33950. Following Visitation will be the service officiated by Pastor Lou Zuck. Immediately following the conclusion of service the family would like to invite their guests to our Reception Hall for food, refreshments and fond memories.
