James Alvin Gammett
September 23rd, 1948 - November 30th, 2012
James Alvin Gammett September 23, 1948 - November 30, 2012. James passed away peacefully at his home in Homedale, Idaho where he resided with his wife Lynda for over 20 years. James was born in Nampa, Idaho and raised in various locations throughout Idaho. He graduated from Marsing High School in 1966. He went to college at TVCC in Ontario, Oregon and BSU in Boise, Idaho. He left college as a Junior to take care of his family. James joined the US ARMY at the age of 23 in January of 1972. He received his training at Ft. Ord, California. He was one of six children born to the late Forest T. and Louise Gammett and was the beloved husband of Lynda Gammett for 35 years. James will forever be remembered by his devoted brothers Tom, Terry, and his loving sister Tina Lemmon, beloved children James D (Patricia) Gammett, Chuck (Jessica) Gammett, Christine (Ed) Lindholm, Janet (Mike) Peltzer, Randall Gammett, Julie (Richard) Luna, treasured grandchildren Lita (Amethyst), Melissa (Kylie), Elizabeth, Robert, Diana, Catherine, Jonathon, Gwenevere, Sheri (Victoria), Amanda, Megan, Brittany, Ilene, Logan, Brooke, Zachery (Jaiden), Caleb, Amber, Ezri, Cody, Michael Jr., Amber, Ritchie, Emily, along with countless other friends and family whom were blessed to know him. James loved listening to oldies, hunting with the grandkids, fishing with the kids and grandkids, camping, laughing, being with his family, and having fun with friends. James was preceded in death by his parents, Forest and Louise Gammett, and two brothers, Ted and Chuck Gammett. James touched the lives of many people with his smile and generosity, and maintained his trademark sense of humor all the way to the end. Friends and family are invited to attend his viewing service on Friday, December 7th, 2012, at 4pm - 8pm. at 27 E. Owyhee Ave., Homedale, Idaho.
